Guided Indian Food Tour of Leeds

Indian Food Tour of Leeds details

3.5 hours | 4 stops | £75pp

Our Indian Food Tour of Leeds takes you on a tasting journey of regional dishes from both the north and south of India. It celebrates the people and flavours that make each dish distinctive and delicious.

Before your food tour begins, one of our local guides will meet you in the city centre, near Leeds Train Station. They’ll act as your food ambassador for the afternoon, guiding you to four popular Indian restaurants in Leeds city centre.

Our tasting partners have been carefully chosen to honour Leeds’ Indian food community. You’ll visit established restaurants, as well as vibrant newcomers, savouring a tasting platter at each stop.

With everything from delectable dosas to flavourful street food on the menu, you’ll sample authentic dishes from Delhi in the north of India and Kerala in the south. You’ll then end your tour with your choice of a mouthwatering Indian dessert.

If you love Indian food, our Leeds food tour is not to be missed. You’ll meet fellow foodies, hear the stories and traditions behind the dishes you’re tasting and support independent Indian restaurants in Leeds.

Food

A tasting plate is included at each stop. Together, they are the equivalent of a hearty lunch. We recommend having a light breakfast before your tour.

Drink

Our guests have shown us that not everyone shares the same thirst. Our Leeds food tour includes a drink at one stop, with tap water available at others. Many of the restaurants offer the option to buy extra beverages to accompany your tastings, should you wish to.

Dietary requirements

We can cater for specific allergies and dietary requirements, including vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free diets.

However, we cannot cater for all dietary or food preferences.

If you or someone in your party has an allergy, dietary requirement or food intolerance, please let us know on your booking form. You can also email [email protected].

Walking distance

You’ll walk approximately one mile across Leeds city centre. One of the restaurants on the tour is up a flight of stairs.

What to wear

Our Leeds food tours take place rain or shine. You’ll be walking between each stop, so please dress for the weather. We recommend layers and comfortable footwear. You may also want to bring an umbrella and sunglasses with you for the unpredictable Yorkshire weather.

Parking and public transport

There are plenty of car parks in Leeds city centre. The nearest two are the APCOA long stay at Leeds Train Station and the Q-Park Sovereign Square.

The meeting point for the tour is a five-minute walk from Leeds Train Station. There are also many bus routes throughout the city. The closest bus stops are on Infirmary Street and Park Row.

Minimum tour numbers

Due to rising operational costs, we have introduced a minimum tour size policy of four guests.
If your food tour has fewer than four participants, we will contact you one week before your selected date. You will have the option to pay a £50 supplementary fee to enjoy the tour as a private experience or reschedule to a different date with a larger group.

If someone books on your tour after you’ve paid the supplementary fee, we will get in touch with you to refund the £50.

If you have a foodie in your life, why not treat them to a gift voucher? Their taste buds will thank you.

You book the voucher, let them pick the date and destination.

If you’re redeeming one of our gift vouchers, pop the code in the form when you’re booking your food tour.

If you’re claiming a gift voucher from Virgin, Buy a Gift, Uniquely Local, Red Letter Days or Get Your Guide, please get in touch with us directly to arrange your booking.

The vouchers cannot be claimed through our booking provider. Please call 07960 240802 or email [email protected] to book your food tour.

If you can’t find a date that works for you, we offer private food tours

Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion, on a hen do or visiting Leeds for the day, we’ll tailor your food tour to you.
